Reserve Our Event Space
Use of Event Space at Adventure Bound Books
Thank you for your interest in our event space and hosting your event or group meeting with us! Groups and individuals have several options when considering the use of our space. If you have questions or believe your needs fall outside of the options and processes below, please call us at 828-475-6955.
Individuals are welcome at any time during regular bookstore hours, to use the tables for individual work space. No reservation or call ahead is required however, patrons should keep in mind that not all tables in the event space may be available at all times, especially if we have projects we’re working on or special displays set up. You are encouraged to call ahead to make sure a table/space is available.
The event space contains 5 tables with chairs. There are 3 square/rectangular tables that seat 4 individuals each, an octagon table that seats 4 individuals, and a small, round table that seats 3 individuals comfortably. There is a couch that seats 3 individuals comfortably. There is also a small stage area, approximately 4 inches tall and roughly 4 feet wide by 8 feet long. We have approximately 12 fold out chairs that are also available if needed.
Our event space is not private or separated from the retail sales floor, meaning that customers may enter the event space to shop the merchandise that is displayed there. If you are interested in a private event, where your group would have exclusive access to the event space and not be disturbed by shoppers, please review the information below.
During Regular Bookstore Hours/Open Use
If you would like to use our event space during regular bookstore hours, for a meeting or gathering of a group up to 15 individuals, you simply need to call 828-475-6955 to make sure that the event space is available during that time. If you are expecting more than 15 individuals for your event, please make sure to mention that during your call so that we can set extra folding chairs out for your use.
Any individual or group using the event space is expected to leave it in the same condition in which it was found. This means that patrons are asked to clear any waste left behind, straighten any furniture moved during the use of the space, not leave waste or other items behind for our team to dispose of.
If you wish to bring food/beverages to your event, there is a Food & Beverage Deposit of $30. This will be converted to a store credit for the individual or group as long as there are no related damages that will need to be covered.
If you wish to reserve the event space, during regular bookstore hours, and have it closed off to the public during your event, the flat fee for a two hour reservation is $200. A $50 deposit (deducted from the total amount due) is expected at the time the reservation is made, with the balance due at the beginning of your reservation time on the day of the event.
After Regular Bookstore Hours Use
If you wish to host an event at the bookstore outside of our regular hours, call 828-475-6955, or stop by the bookstore to inquire about your date of interest and our availability. The fee for after hours space use is $40 per hour (this covers the cost of having (a) team member(s) present and utilities). A $40 deposit (deducted from the total amount due) is expected at the time the reservation is made, with the balance due at the beginning of your reservation time on the day of the event.
If your group is a Book Club, we can waive one hour of the Use Fee with the purchase, from Adventure Bound Books, of 6 or more copies of the Book Club’s chosen book.
If you wish to bring food/beverages to your event, there is a Food & Beverage Deposit of $30. The Food & Beverage Deposit will be converted to a store credit for the individual or group as long as there are no related damages that will need to be covered.
Story Time/Story Camp
If you would like for the bookstore to plan and implement a special story time/story camp event for your group, we are happy to discuss your needs and see what we can arrange. The following, general offerings are available:
1 Hour: 1-2 stories plus craft/activity: $30
1 1/2 Hour: 2-3 stories plus craft/activity: $35
These fees cover part of the cost to have a team member dedicated to your group to read stories and lead the related activity, and the cost of supplies for the craft/activity. If your group is interested in ordering books from the bookstore for or related to the event, the event reservation fee is waived if your group orders or purchases $75 or more in books prior to the event.
